Food Service Receiver - Summer Camp

Food Service Receiver  -   Summer Camp  -  Anticipated Schedule  -  Mid May through End of August August  


Wage: $23.00 Per Hour

Opportunity for End of Season Bonus

 

The site is an established camp in the Berkshires and hosts a total of 1000 campers at two locations on a large property. The first session arrives in late June and departs in mid-July. The second session arrives in late July and ends mid-August.

We are seeking an experienced Foodservice Receiver. This site has deliveries of produce, frozen and dry goods, dairy products and assorted other items. Package totals per delivery range between 20 and 50+ items.   


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handles and manages paperwork related to receiving.  
  • Responsible for maximizing food cost and products through proper procedures to receive products entering the unit, which includes  verifying actual product against packing slips, confirming product integrity and checking product temperatures as needed.  Must initial and code invoices, log invoices, and distribute to appropriate areas (dry storage, refrigerators and freezers). 
  • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip. Sorts, counts packages, inspects labels, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is received. 
  • Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
  • Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items. Traces lost shipments and claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents. 
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
  • Leads, guides, and trains employees performing related work.
  • Maintain and clean the receiving area, including loading dock and trash areas.
  • Responsible for light food prep,  assembling grab & go items and station set – up prior to service with appropriate equipment and food to be determined by the Chef Manager.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area via supervisor instruction and applicable health, safety and food handling regulations, and provide customer service in a courteous manner at all times.
  • At times, will assist with in line service during meal periods, which includes proper portions and replenishing items as needed.
  • Adhere to client and company protocols related to COVID-19 workplace safety, sanitation and hygiene standards.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to comprehend written invoices, simple arithmetic and verify numbers.
  • Strong organizational, communication and reading/math comprehension skills required.
  • Attention to detail necessary, must be able to detect problems, discrepancies and report them to appropriate personnel.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills required in addition to strong reading and math comprehension.
  • Must be able to lift and manipulate heavy objects and be able to frequently life up to approximately 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
