THIS POSITION IS BASED IN BECKET, MA IN THE BEAUTIFUL BERKSHIRES!!!

Brock & Company seeks an experienced Foodservice Receiver. This site has deliveries of produce, frozen and dry goods, dairy products and assorted other items. Package totals per delivery range between 20 and 50+ items. This position requires a candidate with strong organizational skills, communication and reading/math comprehension skill.

Receivers are responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to receiving. Receivers must maximize food cost and product potential through effective and proper procedures for receiving all products entering the unit including verifying actual product against packing slips, confirming product integrity, and checking product temperatures as needed. They must initial and code invoices, log invoices, and distribute to appropriate areas i.e. dry storage, refrigerators and freezers. Receivers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness of receiving area including loading dock and trash areas.

Additionally, the receiver will do light food prep including assembling grab and go items, station set – up prior to service with appropriate equipment and food to be determined by the Chef Manager.
They will maintain a clean and safe work area via supervisor instruction and applicable health, safety and food handling regulations, and provide customer service in a courteous manner at all times.
The receiver may, at times, be asked to assist in line service during meal periods to include proper portions and replenishing.

Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds.
Comprehend written invoices, simple arithmetic and verify numbers.
Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Adhere to client and company protocols related to COVID-19 workplace safety and sanitation standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip.
Sorts, counts packages, inspects labels, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is received.
Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
Traces lost shipments and claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.
May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
Leads, guides, and trains employees performing related work.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
